News:

  • I’m thrilled to announce that – after nearly two years – I’ve finished writing my new book. After quite a lot of discussion, my publishers and I have decided that the title will be ‘Dark Angels’. This time it’s not about trolls or Peer and his friends. I wanted a change, some fresh characters and a new setting! The story is set in the wild border country between Wales and England, at the time of Richard the Lionheart. The central characters are: a boy called Wolf, a girl called Nest, and a wild child named Elfgift. There are plenty of supernatural creatures including elves, hobgoblins, devils, angels, the Wild Hunt... caves, knights... I hope readers of the Troll books will enjoy it just as much. Look out for it in the UK in bookshops from May 2009.

Welcome to my world of Vikings, trolls, ghosts and warriors! My books are based on old Scandinavian legends and folktales. In 'Troll Fell' you will meet orphaned Peer and his friend Hilde, and find out how they outwit not only Peer’s brutal uncles, but also the cunning trolls which live under the mountain. In the sequel, ‘Troll Mill’, the pair must battle with storms, the mysterious seal people, and Granny Greenteeth, the evil water spirit who lives in the millpond. In ‘Troll Blood’, the third book of the trilogy, Peer and Hilde set out in a Viking ship across the ocean, in the company of dangerous young warrior Harald Silkenhair.
